 Post subject: windscreen wipers help.

so the windscreen wipers stopped working today. :( .
had a looky see, and the cable that connects the two wiperarms to the motor has snapped :shock:
what to do fellas. any idea s how to get that sorted, i'm still shocked it snapped.

Replace the cable.






And it might be a good idea to check the wheel boxes aren't jammed up too :wink:

what did you mean with reguards to the wheel boxes. just clogged up with dirt and that??

The wheel boxes are the spindles that the wiper arms are mounted to. You'll most likely need to take these out to replace the cable anyway. The shaft within sometimes jams / siezes up in the fixed housing.

They can be pressed apart to clean & re-grease but if the thread on the outer housing is corroded you'll need new ones of these too.
