Anyone on the forum bought or fitted one of these?

It is a pre-made 60's style works rally dash setup. And looks quite well made.

what do you guys think?

i have built a makeshift version, which i had planned to improve on at a later date but thought this is very good value considering the work that goes into making one.

Very nice, functional. I like the vinyl covering on that. and you have speakers mounted there aswell, very nice.

I had some speaker boxes mounted up there in my last mini, but they were not very well made.

cheers ryan, it looks good from that angle

I have to say it took quite a few attempts to get it to look and fit that good.

it is fixed in with some MDF behind it, and the side closest to the centre speedo is open so you can see behind it. That particular panel is also a pain in the you know what to remove and refit when you want to work on anything there

the proper setup pictured above will make working on things much easier.

weight wise i dont think the few kilograms will make that much difference. 8)

i suppose the main reasons i am changing it is because of ease of access to the guages and electricals, and because it looks much more period than what i have made myself.

the new dash will also mount more solidly and has sides on it so it doesnt look so ugly from the side.

steel, tools and equipment, and the time to make these things quite often is to much when you can buy one pre-made for a good price.

75 pounds is damn cheap in my opinion! and that is for both sides

Every kilo counts :P ... myself I like everything stockish looking. Only need 3 guages to drive a mini, temp, oil pressure and tacho. Speedo's just there for the odometer.

Where will you put yer junk when you have no dash comartments? I love to stash junk there

PS. I like where you've mounted the extinguisher. I got sick of it on the floor at the rear mounted inline with the transmission tunnel, kept on kick it. I might steal that idea

Lillee, just a tip, when you mount the fire ext thre, use rubber rings or washers to help with vibration.

mine vibrates as it is in a position where it is hanging. so any movement or vibration makes it rattle or make noises. can be annoying
