Glad you answered the post phat kat!

Want to do my car for me??? or BETTER STILL teach me the dark arts? I am a good learner and perfectionist at heart... please please pretty please!

I really do want to do a good job of it, hence why I want to do it myself so I know it's right. I don't want it to cost the end of the earth either. I also know that Lillee will need loads of work, lots of welding and some panel replacement so I it will end up costing me heaps I'm sure of it if I get someone else to do it.

$2600 is on the expensive side just for getting paint off! but I don't mind paying it if they can assure me it's going to be a good job.

Out of interest so I know what budget I should expect, can you PM me price range of what you would charge if you were to do the car whole?

After base coat do they do any sort of buffing or sanding back before clear coat?[/quote]

 Sorry mate, I don't do work on other peoples cars anymore.... i needed a job pays and I just don't have the patience anymore... There are other places around though that can do the work for you.... Ivan has a guy that he sends his over flow work to who's a specialist in pommy cars, (mainly MG's, Triumph's etc) and if memory serves he ONLY does concourse work... might be worth giving him a bell?

Hi
Just a question regarding the ppg 2K eurathane primer recomended by micowen. Is this primer safe to use at home or does it contain isocianates making it illegal to use at home.

Thanks.

If you need to do it "cost effectively" (on the cheap), paint stripper and a Supercheap type home sandblaster will get you their. Slow but if your only doing a bit at a time, it's results aren't to bad, just make sure you throw some primer on afterwards.
