Bought another BK450 head gasket. They still come from Payen UK, but no longer have the magic words `Made in England' stamped on them, but packaging is marked `Made by Payen, in Kontich, Belgium'
We'll see how it goes... I was assured by the importer they are no different, and still better than the `asbestos free' copper ones.

Put on a new bonnet!

Any trick to aligning the buggers?

Can't seem to get the spring loaded catch to align properly. Sits too high.

Yeah, good aren't they!? My Wipacs are easily as good as the lights on our Territory, and with a pair of pencil-beam driving lights the Mini puts most cars to shame on te highway at night 8) 8)

Washed the van and moke so the misses and I could take the kids for a ride in the grand parade at the local show yesterday.
Not only our kids got a ride but most of their friends as well. :D
Good times.

Main street of Warracknabeal? :D
I was there for a day a few months back visiting the Clyne's. I drove past what might have been your work yard (judging by the cherry picker trucks). But we were heading straight back to Melb airport afterwards so no time to stop.

I collected the new project shell. See my gallery pics.

Then I sorted through the boxes of parts. Don't you hate it when someone strips a car and uses just one big bucket for every nut, bolt, washer and bracket that came off!! :x This is one big jigsaw puzzle, especially the bits that are specific to 850s.

Fitted yellow/orange LED bulbs to the front indicators - The beehives will look white until the lights flash - parkers have been moved to the H4 headlights

Today I got my new carpet for the boot :D Installed that and am very happy.

On another note though .. my son broke the start button for his computer so I had to pull out the soldering iron and dummied up a front switch. Not exactly set the way I would have liked but it shall do.

Yesterday I had one of those Mini days that you rather not have.
Firstly my clutch began to misbehave and gradually got worse to the point where it would not allow any gear changes. During my roadside fault diagnosis I found the ball at the end of the clutch arm had cracked away from the stem and was at a strange angle. Luckily I had a mate who grabbed me a new arm from our local Mini people at Padstow and after fitting that I was on my way again.
Then 15 minutes up the road and the engine dies.....I find that the bracket that holds the ignition pwer module had cracked and allowed the module to drop and short out thus killing the ignition.....so that got zip tied back into place and we were on the raod again. This time straight home and into the shed for some permanent repairs and a good going over to see what other gremlins may have decided that my Mini was a good place to live.

Tim
