Do all Australian MK II Cooper S speedometers have the RPML 1312 marking under the mileometer and just behind the needle or were there some units with other letters/numbers? The following thread appears to support the theory that all were 1312 but I'd appreciate anyone with such a car to check and report back, please.

My May 1970 S reads 54M2-1/12 and RPML 1312.

Any other Mk II S owners able to confirm the speedo type in their car?

Just looked at the speedo's in my collection and both the Mk2 ones are 1312.
I have some K and Deluxe with 1408.
I just need to pull the Mk1 apart to check it, the glass has too much dust on the inside to see through.

Not much. But seriously I do need a dial for a Mk1 S if you would like to sell it. PM me if interested.

Just looking at my Mk2 speedos and I discover that one has an orange needle. Did they ever come with an orange needle?

Sorry wild_willy, I am keeping the Mk1. But if it makes you feel any better the face has some nasty scratches.

My May '69 Mark 2 has RPML. 1312 above needle and 54M2-1/12 below needle.

But the rest of the car is fake.
