I'd agree with that - a Mini always looks like it's going faster than it actually is (feels like it from the inside too!).
A mature bloke I know had a nice Mini 10 years ago. A deluxe with an 1100S engine, twins, exhaust and nice respray in indigo blue with a white roof.
He was driving at about 40 in a 50, looking for a house address. He was in second gear, so the car was making some noise. Some clown walking a dog along the street thought he was speeding, got angry and chucked his house-keys at the car. They hit the drivers side A-panel with a thud and my mate instinctively swerved and narrowly missed a parked car.
He reported the key-thrower to the Police and had the guy charged with criminal damage. It went to court and the guy copped a $500 fine and to pay for the damage to the Mini.
But, my mate was so dissilusioned with the whole thing he sold the Mini soon after and bought a boring car.
