I resurrected a dead Clubby wiper motor for Lockie. Has 2 speeds and autopark working now too. 1 down, 1 to go... :P

[edit] Main problem was the usual, the steel slip ring corroding away. But, I've seen em much worse... this was after I cleaned it up a bit.

It has a nice new one in there now.

Fixed the horn again, started to put in an electric wiper washer, and started to divert my crank case breather away from the atmosphere into something. Will I use a catch tank or PCV valve?

Learnt a lesson: The tiniest imperfection in filler will show up in the top coat. Only a door, so not the greatest pain in the date, so just something to bear in mind in the future.

Now sitting back watching 30 years of the RAC rally, with minis, escorts, saabs, volvo amazons and the Metro 6R4 - whoop!

Hi. Had a play with the toy car today. Fitted the brake booster and bracket, and ran some new brake lines.

It went from this:

The rope you see is my patented towing point for securing the vehicle onto the trailer - [Yes 9YaTaH, (sorry, but as a n00b I don't know ur real name), I do have a mini trailer, it's just that the boat trailer was better suited for transporting the bare shell]!!

Getting there, slowly slowly....Plenty of time....Don't you worry about that....

I had a problem with the Cooper engine, it was missing.

After a brief search I found the problem. It was on the garage floor.
Har har.

not today, but last night I replaced a passenger side engine mount without removing the radiator - I thought that was a good effort :?

Organised the garage from being "nope, not gonna fit" to, "yeh i can sorta squeeze there... oh look ive got a work bench again!"

stripped the engine and separated the box, pulling apart a few engines to get piece's to make a decent 2nd hand rod change box...

getting stuff lightened and machined in the morning... fun fun fun!

Dropped a large bucket of nuts, bolts, brackets, screws, odds and sods off to be barell zinc plated. They'll be finished in time for the new engine build.

I haven't done this in two years, but I love it when they come back....

I decked mattsmadmini's 202 head around .050", then put NAV's rack back together.

Got the head, painted it black.... (how very rolling stones of me...)
Assembled said decked head :) looks very pretty now, all pieces there and all...

now gotta make a damn box!

Test fitted the carb and extractors.... not a great deal of clearance between manifolds, gonna have to put the intake manifold on a skim diet...

Maybe... but in 30 years I won't be fixing it!
Mate I have to say, yours is the best condition rack I have ever stripped.
Even was 1/2 full of thick oil still. :P
It has definitely been apart before, because:
1. The rack bush wasn't knackered,
2. one of the Belleville preload washers was fitted wrong way up.

However, it got my usual standard rebuild.

gave the min a wash, it's shiny when it's wet!! :D

then took it for a spin around the block, last time I drove it it had a huge flat spot/misfire... that was 2+ months ago, today it was ok, a little off at low rpm/high load, but not too bad. perhaps it was water in the VR sensor for the megajolt kit? Last time I drove it it was pouring, that was when the flat spot appeared...
