firstly I am disappointed that none of you commented on my squeaky rocker pic. That is comedy GOLD right there!! :)
Ian 49 came round on Saturday and we swapped out the rockers and put it all back together.
We gave it a test run and the squeak was gone. Woohoo.
We gave it a god run to see how it went and the engine was blissfully squeak free. Ian left and went home.

I wanted to test and make sure that the head gasket wasn't leaking so I let it cool down and then gave it another go and the SQUEAK RETURNED.

GAHHHHHH.

I am thinking that the rockers are not getting enough oil. I am going to have a look tonight and see how I go.
Any more educated guesses.

David

Hey All,

I have done an oil change tonight and the squeak "seems" to have gone.
I don't want to jinx myself so I will wait till it isn't so late and have a good test of it.

Do you ever start to not hear strange noises coming from your engine? Maybe when I know what all the noises mean I will stop worrying. Or maybe when this motor blows up and I put a 4efte in it :)

Thanks to all with your suggestions.

David

well hopefully I will get to drive this pig for a while before anything explodes. If the engine dies now I will be setting the whole car on fire and dancing around it like a mad man.
