Hi all,

I have just re-caught the mini bug and am looking at options of importing a jap mini. As I have been out of the game for a while I was just wondering what the current regulations and options are for imports.

ie. -what year models can be complied
-what the estimated cost will be for full compliance
-is it better to source my own mini & then have it complied in Aus
-are there any companies or sites that people would recomend for compliance or imports

I am after a 1.3L manual and am located in SA, any thoughts, advice or personal experience would be very appreciated.

Thanks in advance bazzamagoo

I think your best bet would be to contact josh? at miniimports.

As far as i know he controls the import market for rover minis.

Josh has the only complied genuine Paul Smith in Australia for sale at the moment, maybe look into that?

It is a nice mini and I think the $ are reasonable.

Thanks for the input guys. I am not a big fan of the Paul Smith model (I am more after the look of the sport pack). Are there any other companies that import the rovers? I was hoping to spend around $15k. Seeing a few sport packs on carsales in the mid $20's is starting to turn me off the idea a bit though. Would an option be to buy say a mayfair 1.3 and fit with flared guards and 13'S (are these the only visual exterior mods besides badging)?
