Definitely back in action. Check out the queensland raceway website as they run lakeside and have the events there.

Fond memories there for me. Gregg Hansford and Warren Willing.:D
Is it still the narrow bumpy track?

track is still very much the same as it was long ago. it has been resurfaced some years ago and the entry to the main straight and the kink have both been widend. not as bumpy as it was way back yonder, which is good, but some of the bumps have remained.

i love the layout of lakeside. lots of fun

I remember the weekends when I was a kid and the touring cars were there. All we would hear all weekend long was the drone of racing in the distance. And we were 8km away at Strathpine!

the track has recently been back in action. it is now run by QLD raceway, and events are on most weekends and quite often during the week aswell.

as far as i am aware the track now has restrictions in place for noise and operating times etc, but it is definatley back!

i have been to about 6 events there over the past year or two, club events and races, it was great to be back there again.

yeah i`m sooooo glad it was saved & is running again, we`ve done only a couple of meetings there since it`s re-birth & yes the track is a tad smoother & a little wider (here & there) it`s (on the whole) about a sec quicker than it used to be

my best times there (in my own cars) are 1min 4secs in my road mini (12 years ago)

& just recently 1min 2secs in my race car (not sorted properly tho) hope to get back there early next year & buzz under the minute (hopefully)

i did a few 56 & 57 sec laps in Glen Setons old V8 super car (again 12 years ago) & 1min 3secs in a 6-speed 80cc go-kart
