Hey guys
gonna drop both subframes on the clubby just wondering where'd i can support the relevant end of the car with jacks during and after the removal??? it says in the maintenance manual to jack up the car but doesnt say how your meant to keep it jacked while you drop the subframe.....

Milk crates, theyre awesome, one in each corner of the floor, they spread the weight over a larger area than jack stands

I used wood tressels, well i think thats what there called, two off, one at each end, supporting the floor of the body.

Hang on, i think i dropped the front frame 1st, then put on the tressels and then dropped the rear frame, a few sets of hands with a couple of jacks/stands.

Without the subframes, I have found it best to use wooden cribs (pieces of used 4"x4" posts) and 2"x6" lumber to span between the cribs.

2"x6" gives a jacking point fore and aft for repositioning cribs and support without stressing any of the Mini's floor areas.

My son even padded some 4"x4" with old carpet to protect the wee beasties when 2"x6" not used or to place on top of the 2"x6" to provide clearance to run lines, cable etc.

Milk crates???
Will this be enough to hold up the weight of the shell????
A milk crate bows when I'm on top of it (although im not that small )
To hard to find any cheap wood down here unfortunately I might find some milk crates and give it a go....

I've used milk crates to hold up a mini before and they worked like a charm.

Milk crates are fine for a shell
Make sure the engine/front subframe is supported by jack/stands though!

Doogie once told me four mik crates will support a complete nissan pulsar (without wheels) for a week in mid January hot sun before it begins to sag.

A shell is fine

well the mini is gonna be on the crates till i get round to making
a rottiserie ( which knowing me will take months)

20 litre drums filled with water and sealed with their caps??

Or a Supercrap set of stands on sale at the moment - $17 something - nearly half price - Think I'll get another pair so I have one for each corner if needed.
