John Parnell is looking for information and/or photos of the Astor Diamond Dot car radios that were an option for the Mini range back in the 1960's. Some were manual, others push-button, some had BMC on the dial. In particular he would like to know the various model numbers and the year they were introduced. We've done a lot of Googling with only limited success.

If you have one installed in your Mini or covered in dust at the back of the garage John would love to get a photo.

Thanks Brenton. Yes, I actually have it sitting in front of me right now but about to take it back to Jon. He kindly let me take a few photos before it went to its new home later today.
Doug

Hi Doug, I have about ten pages from the BMC Approved Accessories Catalogue that I will copy and pass on. It may be a couple of days though.

John mentioned that you had sent him some stuff from your accessories literature. Would that be the same thing?

Thanks, that's great. It's possible your photo(s) might end up in his book so, without wanting to take any liberties, if you were able to 'frame' any photos you take by having a neutral background I'm sure John would be most grateful. On the ones I did of minsta's radios I had a sheet of butchers paper that was held up at the back so it looked a bit like a ski jump, if you get my drift. A close-up of the dial showing any BMC logos would be a real winner.
Beggars can't be choosers so whatever you can do would be fantastic. I'll send you my email by PM.

Hiya,

Yeah, Morris 1100 (Mike) sent me some 1100 literature, but not the brochure -
I just borrowed the pic from a previous Ausmini thread in which he posted.

As I mentioned, kiwiinwgtn has/had one for sale on the other side of the ditch. He has posted pics too.

cheers! jon
