Hi all

I'm new to the forum. Late last year I bought a 62 Saxon Green 850 from Devonport in Tasmania and brought it to Melbourne. It goes very well (it has a 998 engine) and the external paintwork (redone in original colour about 15 years ago) is superb. Have now moved it from Tassie to Victorian Club plates.

Welcome to Ausmini. It sounds like a pretty nice car. Any chance of some photos??

Thanks for the welcome, Mick.
I've posted some pictures in the Mini Gallery at http://www.ausmini.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=68060.

Hi Guys,

I have been in the mini and classic car scene for a while now (20 odd years) and have moved around a bit. Having settled in Brisbane and joined the MOCQ I joined the online forum to have more interaction with like minded nuts.

A little about my car.
Body pressed in UK and shipped to Blackheath in Cape Town (SA). Moved to the UK and the car followed. When we moved to OZ - well you cant leave a part of you behind so she came out to Brisbane. So I am guessing that my 1275 GT of 1972 vintage would be one of the most travelled mini's in the world...

See you guys around.
Chris

Hi everyone,
A belated introduction, I've been lurking for a while. I'm Peter from Melbourne.
Recently bought my 68 deluxe with supercharged 1310. Plan to convert to EFI turbo twinky one of these days. More power can't hurt, right?

Sugar the white mini matic might be back on the road soon. I have just fitted a recon head and it seems to be running sweet.
Hopefully it should be blued slipped in the month or so.

Hi PeeTee,
Welcome to Ausmini forums.
Nice mini look forward to seeing future developments. I'm guessing it has substantial amounts of power presently though

Hello fellow mini-nuts

I'm Nats, and am the proud owner of a 1977 Aussie Leyland Mini S, bought as a project vehicle. My first car was a 1972 Clubman S and I fell in love with them way back then. The old girl is in the operating theatre at the moment having some 'boot cancer' removed. Stay tuned for a thread, and hopefully the Mini community will encourage me to keep working and keeping another Mini alive.

Nats

Hi Nats,

Glad you could join us. I hope you enjoy your time on the forum.

Be sure to start a thread in the Gallery when you are able to take a few pics of your car.

Cheers, Nick

Good decision, get rid of the HR for a Mini.
Actually I quite like the HRs.
Welcome to the nutters club

Hi,
A bit of an essay sorry for the easily distracted ha ha!

my name is Doug. I live in Newcastle, NSW. I am really only just getting into Mini's and came here to research information and such so i am a bit of a lurker but thought it the right thing to do to register.

I have no Mini's at the moment. I recently sold one of my cars to afford a mini and now i am just holding out for the right one as my budget is not alot but i want a registered runner. (good to dream huh?).

I am more of a hotrodder of sorts, having just sold a 1926 Chrysler Roadster Pick Up project to fund my future mini. I also have a '59 Chevrolet Belair & a '36 Chevrolet aswell i like to play around on and a Harley Iron883 i ride to work. I am in a traineeship as of tomorrow so figured i would flip one of the rods for a drivable project for fun on the cheap and what could be more fun than a rubber suspensions front wheel drive car that weighs nothing?

I am looking at probably getting a clubman for now, doing a roundie front sheet metal graft later, giving it a 3 or 4" roof chop, Louvred bonnet, maybe shaved door handles, white tuck and roll interior with red metal flake paint and pin striping :) thats my plan atm.

Being a hotrodder i can be pretty handy and i am the kind of guy that doesnt mind helping out some friendly enough so if you are a local and you need some help or advice or ideas please feel free to drop me a line.
regards,
Doug
