well i do appreciate the offer, your welcome to come around if you want but honestly i can't see the point, if it's not possible to get this thing out then what can be done? I will be honest i really cant be assed taking the engine out, i don't have time , so im not going to do it, the whole reason i bought this car was because the engine was rebuilt and (supposedly) ready to go.

besides i dont have an engine crane , or anywhere to put the engine, or even the know how of what to do once it's out

if it feel into the sump could you not undo the sump plug & try pour loads of oil down it & in luck it could run out via the sump hole? i have not seen how big the bolt is.

just a thought might work????

otherwise engine out. do it mate i would if people are offering to do it free take it would take a day to do it or 2 weekends and done.

i think dougie got his engine out in like 40mins. it does not take long.

A+ aircon & other crap thats another grim story i wish on no one lol..

I didn't think that part could fall in, as it is held in place by the camshaft? not sure really, i just recall it being firmly in place when i removed my dissy.

Compressions don't sound promising...

Just as an aside, how long was the engine laid up for? Do you have oil pressure? All this cranking without oil pressure wouldn't be doing it much good either...

If the engine has been laid up for a year or more, you may have to reverse prime the oil pump to get it pumping.

It's a bit late now, but first thing i'd do/have done then is prime the oil pump

1. remove the oil return line from filter to block.

2. Pour some engine oil down the hole in the block, put the car in reverse and push it backwards until the oil gets sucked down by the pump. rinse and repeat a few times.

3. Replace oil return pipe.

4. Then remove plugs and crank until oil pressure builds up. Then trouble shoot the rest. Removing the plugs puts less load on the engine as there's no compression, which I imagine is of benefit when there isn't much oil getting about!

Another trick is to loosen the oil return line, and crank over. If oil comes out, there's some oil pressure!

Maybe your gauge is stuffed.....

Unless the keyway got wedged into the dizzy and fell out when he pulled it out. I've heard of people fishing these things out with magnets so not all is not lost..

Hang in there Ryan. get the guys around to help and if they need moral support send me a message and I'll bring beer. :)
