Thanks for that, and I reckon that would be a task and a half doing it with the windscreen still in!

Tiny dremel drill bit to make a pilot hole (i had to drill it on a 45deg angle). Then i used a cordless drill with one of those right angled attachments to drill up from the underside. I hit the windscreen rubber as the drill went through the first hole. :x With the second and third i knew to put a piece of metal there to guard it. ;)

From what info i could find, only the OZ cars had these dashes
I believe that's correct. The UK Broadspeeds had the normal oval binnacle in the centre, i think.

Ahh no. I have some pics of a similar dash fitted to a UK barn find taken 20+ years ago in the UK.

Cheers, Ian

I'm pretty sure the original UK Broadspeeds had this dash - I've got an old CCC mag that shows it. Maybe the later replicas (90's) didn't include it.

I had one of these dashes in my Cooper S for years - bought it from GS Fibreglass in Sydney who used to make heaps of Mini stuff - but I later sold it to a guy here in Adelaide who out it into the ex-Jarrett chop top sports sedan which he was converting to road use (by then Jarret was running the ex-BL Works P6B Rover with the Traco 4.3 V8 that Repco further developed after Jim Smith and Castrol imported it from Blighty after the BL Works Team was shut down in 1970).

I'm happy to be proven wrong. I just recall reading it somewhere that this was an aussie broadspeed dash. .. and when i was googling Broadspeed worldwide for pictures i couldn't find any UK Broadspeeds with this type of dash. All the pics i found had an oval binnacle. So i just assumed the initial info was correct. My bad.

Can someone actually fit one to a mini? Seems like everyone has them just sitting around in sheds.

Can someone lend me a good one that I can make a mold from?
I'd seriously love to make a few. I'll make them while I make my clubby body kits, and roundie "competition" group 2 arches.

Ken supplied the dash Brad, didn't make it, not sure where he got it, but had had it for a while.

I drilled the mounting holes in the top dash rail while the windscreen was out. These dashes will benefit from some additional support on the outer edges and where the main gauge panel is. The more gauges you have, adds that much more weight. Not hard to make a supporting bracket that mounts off the parcel tray.
