 Post subject: Starter motor

I have just replaced the starter motor....The one I took out had a broken spring...looks like it broke very recently.
My question is....How easy is it to replace the spring?

Easiest done with the spring compression tool, then actually very easy. Without the tool, you may get it apart but I doubt you'd be able to re-assemble. Usually, when the spring goes, it's also a sign that the pinion is alo about to split and the bendix is worn.
