Out of curiosity, did anyone like the look of the clubby kit I put up in the "broadspeed dash" topic? [/quote]

Would want to see it on a car for final opinion but looks ok to me.

Like these (quite JDM-stylee but also very cool)

Mini Mac used to sell fibreglass bonnets, boot-lids and flares. He's retired now, so I'm not sure if his supplier is now supplying someone else.

I'm sure Max would supply them if you asked, or direct you to the supplier. I would not recommend his round nose front as the mould was taken off one of my fibreglass fronts. Fit is terrible and takes a lot of effort to get right. I'II be making a new mould for myself soon

As for the other panels, there a few supplier who already have the moulds and supply fiberglass parts such as Fred Sayers and British sporting Cars, but I don't believe any make the parts in Carbon Fibre.

I like the look of the rear spoiler but I'd need to see the whole thing on a car to say for sure.
I'm not keen on the side skirts but the rest looks good.

Is it just me, or does this green mini have a funny shaped bonnet?
Kinda looks peaked at the front.

Have to admit, I like the look of the front spoiler. Very effective how the bumper hides the join between the spoiler and the arch.

Okay, so the most part are after fibreglass or carbon fibre boot lids or bonnets?
To do a carbon fibre bonnet would get rather rich.
Just quickly doing the math on it, it would take roughly a full square meter for one layer, and it takes at least three layers.
Thats (give or take) $300 straight up, not including any internals, or the materials for the cross braces!
The infusion molding I can do, the materials I can get, but as I said, it gets a bit rich when you start to break it down!
Would people still be interested in them knowing how rich they can get, or would you guys prefer a fibreglass bonnet with a carbon layer to make it look like a carbon fibre bonnet?

The only front spoiler for a round nose that takes my fancy is the one from SRacer from the states -

But the JDM one above is not bad.

I think that the sracer and the JDM ones are the same.

Nope,

The SRacer one doesn't blend into the arch flares, It blends into the body line so can be fitted without flares.

Edit - They do look very similar otherwise though!

cheers

Personally I don't think exposed carbon fiber suits a mini and I don't think the weight saving between CF and FG is worth the price difference, unless your building a super expensive ultra high performance track car.

The Arc Angels in the UK make literally everything that you could want out of fibre and carbon.
I just priced a full front, bonnet and boot in fibreglass to my door in Vic, $600.
Pretty good imo.

Talking about fiberglass , how would you fit this bugger ?

You could just use the one set of hinges on the side but would it be strong enough ?
