Hi all,
Every time I drive when it is raining dissy(it is a electronic pulsar One) gets water and car straggles under acceleration from stand still.
I get out spray with WD 40 from outside and couple of minutes later it is fine till next rain.
I do have the plastic cover behind the grill but doesn`t seem to be working properly.
Has anyone got better idea; like covering the hole dissy with hard plastic bags or something?

I also run a Pulsar dizzy.
Mine was like that until I fitted new plug leads. Top Gun etc cheap ones only are good for a year or two, then they can break down.

Since fitting Bosch leads (from Supercrap) 4 years ago I can hose the engine while running, dizzy cap included..

I would be cleaning off all the residual WD40 and other gunk off the cap and leads as well as checking resistance of the leads.

I run a Pulsar dizzy too and don't worry at all about hosing the engine to degrease it.

When I lived in the Blue Mountains (on a good day you can see fog) I found that it was usually the grime and oil on the outside of the cap that caused the spark to go astray when it was wet.
Start the car on a dark night, apply water and you will see where the sparks jump.

Although I mentioned the O ring, I suggested it as something else to look at. I agree that the leads and the boots on the leads are the most likely cause, which in turn is probably from the WD-40, it rots rubber, doesn't do silicone any good either. It will also work better in the rain if you spray a little on before you venture out, but best clean it off as soon as is possible. There is one of them Water Displacing sprays that is better than the others in that it does not rot rubber. CRC 3-35?

Back in the good old days (pre- WD40) we used silicone dielectric grease, smeared on. It was wonderful...
