Being a volunteer this year, I was shocked when i found they had sent me the list of 2005 accepted entrants ( i think ), And i was shocked to find only TWO minis going in the event next year. Everyone stops to see the minis at the night stops, every night, and there are alwasy about 10. But this next year it seems there will only be 2. This is shocking, and not good enough. We need some of you more well off in the community to come down and have a go. It really is heaps less interesting knowing that there will be 2 minis, in 2005 targa Tasmania.

I know where they have gone though. Also on the list was about TEN new Bini's      . I am not impressed.

Would this be the final listing or could more possibly be entering. I have emailed a friend of mine who races in the Compair Mini Targa Team to find out if they are entering next year.

I will let you know.

I'd enter too if i had a sponsor  I just drove most of the east coast of Tassie on the weekend and it's a great drive... but I couldn't help thinking it would be even better in a mini

Apparently it's not the final listing. Competitors can still enter at a later date. Here's hoping that more Minis make the trip.

Hopefully there will be more entries. I think the 'historic' cars racing against the big boys is what makes it great. I love watching it on tele.

Id love to go one day :)

hmmm
well
i got my new list being a targa official
Umm i counted 3 minis '67 cooper s, '65 cooper s, '66 cooper s mkII, '70 cooper s, '68 cooper s, Bugger me i missed counted 5 Well 4 of them will be in the race stages, one will be in the touring classics, which i think means they only do limited racing, if any??
And i think there were about 6-7 BINIs on the list
but good that there are more minis in it

I remember well i think i remember, when the cars came into Burnie for their night stop they'd all park in a big car park ( They still do) and public come around and view them, and there was a large number of minis, up to 10 i reckon all parked together , they always got heaps of attention, so they had better not die out, casue they do a good job down here

okkher Bye

oh and the raceing is on in 2-3 weeks
