ok guys...

its time to rebuild my 1100 engine in my clubman.
just wanted to know from those who have experience what i should do exactly and the prices im looking at roughly.

basically i wanna bore it out a little without going too far for drivability (the car will be a 2 day a week driver but not daily) so how far over do i go??

also, what pistons do i go for and do i need to do other things like cams? rods? etc. and also to get it converted to unleaded (or is it worth the money as i dont mind using the flashlube i use now??)

my budget is under $1500 (hopefully should cover most things as i will do most myself????)

can someone please go thorugh with me the process i should go? and also some rough approximations to some prices and places to go in SYDNEY.

i will have the engine apart in the next week and need to know what parts i get/send away first, second etc. and where?

See Colin or Ivan @ Mini Spares and Repairs - Castle Hill. They have their own machine shop for engine rebuilds. Average pricing but decent, honest guys.

yep, as an ex resident of Quakers Hill/Castle Hill, can't go past Ivan and Colin. Two gentlemen of the mini world and their workshop always has some interesting little creations around it..
Plus, they won't rip you off and are always willing (within reason) to offer advice

anyone know roughly what kinda price im looking at to get bored out....so pistons and whatever else i need and also a rough price to get the unleaded conversion done???

Just for your interest one of the guys at the mini club up here, just had his 1275 rebuilt. He had the work done by the guy that balances DJR's Supercar V8's. He told me, that it cost about 1200 to rebuild with a .020 oversize, and complete balancing.

damn....that's looking pretty cheap!!

hope someone around sydney can do those kinda prices.....

just from what ive been told, total rebuild with new pistons etc would be $2000+ if done properly.....i guess that's including labour probably??
