Remove the engine from the Deluxe so I could check and possibly replace a suspected faulty diff bearing. Found both diff bearings intact and no broken bits in the oil. :? :?
So while the engine was on the ground I decided to make the effort worth while and cleaned the engine, removed the flywheel and checked the primary gear oil seal, which was OK, replaced the thrust bearing and worn spindle. Suspect my original problem was a dodgy Pot joint so I replaced both and then replaced the engine.
Will complete the assembly tonight and take for a test drive.

No luck on the blue slip as I don't have a front bumper (missing body work) other than the suspension need adjusting everything worked perfect.
Very happy Driving Marcia rather than just around the block

Find another more understanding blueslip inspector. As per my MSN message advising 2 others.
The front flange is gone and the body is now smooth, so no `bumper' (embellisher strip is a better description) should be no problem.
We blueslipped my son's last Clubby without one.

removed rhr wheel for tyre replacement, and while i was gone someone hit the clubby pushing it of the jack and stands. all is ok though, and in the end the clubby now has new rear tyres :)

removed the cyc head of the Fang engine to find shinny bores. we will get around to removing the a series lump from the rear of the Fang and performing a bit of open heart surgery. We think it may have a cracked piston or 2 plus lots of broken ring after its run at Wakefeild.

Will post pics of the broken bits when we have the time to play doctors and nurses with it.

It vomited a bit over 3 lt of oil out through the breathers in the last 10 min run last Sunday.

But the good news is now I can use the bigger cam I have set aside for it. MORE POWAH !

I would have left it alone and just plumbed the catch tank back to the sump. Or just mount the tank behind the rear wheels so you don't spin on your own oil when the tank overflows.

The amount it was breathing at idle it certainly looked like it needed rings!
