Ok. I need some advice here. The majority of all you lucky buggers who live in the more populated areas have access to Mini specialists who can repair, modify and do all sorts of things to your cars. Poor old sods like me who decided years ago to go for the sea change have got stuff all. What I want to know is whether any of you can recommend any decent mechanics around, or close to where I live who don't cringe when you mention Mini. I live on the South Coast of NSW, near Bermagui. About 50K's from Bega. Only one I can think of nearest to me is John Smidt at Narellan.
Any others ? Thanks

+ 1 as I am posting to HMAS Creswell in the New Year. There used to be a fellow in South Nowra who did mini stuff - I think he has long retired(last time I was in the area for any length of time was 1992!!)

It is a perk of the job I currently have in I can post myself, within reason, anywhere I like.

I have served there before, left just before they civilianised the waterfront and ruined it for all!! :x

Nah - have an ethic thing in that I refuse to do jobs for the boys. Not my way and will always bite you on the bum in the long run.

I wanted Canungra however they turned all the billets up there into EW(Electronic Warfare)ones so again I miss out...

Creswell is a nice way to spend a run down period. I've got 4 weeks coming up... I'll suss the place out for mechanics once I'm there. I might take the Cooper for a long stretch of it's legs up the coast road from Melbourne.

Try the servo at Kalaru as I know that he had a Moke when I was there a couple of years ago or try the Saffire Coast Car Club { I think that's what they are called} near Settlers Cottage Pambula South.

Cheers Jon

I know Kalaru well and have stopped at the servo a few times. The man with the Moke has gone and the place is currently for sale. I have thought of joining the Sapphire Coast Car Club. They have some good facilities and it may be worth a go. Thanks for the reply
