As you will see "Derek" we think is a 63 Panelvan English.. Has a bit of trouble with his smile!. So we are looking for a replacement front, or at least the grill part.

The pressed in grille is a really important part of the character of the UK vans. Without it you just have a Mini van, so you really do need to replace it with the original pressed grill. M Machine in the Uk list both the whole front panel as well as just the grille section.

http://www.m-machine.co.uk/MM%20Panels_170.htm

Another option might be to source one of the plastic van grilles that are popular in Japan. Not quite right, but better than an ordinary grille.

edit: I just translated that page and realised its a steel grille, at 12600 yen thats a bargain. All you have to do is get them to sell you one.

You could repair your front panel using the metal insert available from the UK but your panel looks so far gone I would suggest you buy a new front panel from Minisport UK.
I repaired a UK front panel and welded it into my 63 van, If I had to do the job again I would buy one of these...

Its not that hard, oil filters are a bit messy, points gap is a little harder.

Thanks everyone for your input, we can now look into possibly getting something from the UK. "Derek" does have to wait his turn, so something may turn up a bit closer to home.

Thanks again!!
