Need more info-
eg. is it a Weslake (8 port), an AKM (7 port), or the MiniSport UK (7 port) one?
Or something rarer.....??

[edit] All the others, Arden etc are alloy, not cast iron.

Oh good question, i would have no idea. Its fitted to a Race car we are looking at buying, it has alot of history and holds class records. I was trying to work out what they are worth to see how much this car is worth. I believe it is something rarer than the standard run of the mill 8 port head

I reckon it would probably be an arden head. if its a current race car.

8 port head i would say if its built $3000-$4000 depending on what it is

Thats what i reckon

Arden 8 port heads have been around since the late 60s. Minispares currently owns all the patterns etc and supplies them. The recent ones do not work as well as the earlier ones (they buggered up the cores for the port shapes and haven't rectified it yet).

Elder 8 port heads are more recent- 10-15 years?? my guess..
Their current 7 port is the one to get, not their previous 8 port.

If you intend on buying, check for any cracking in the valve seats and from seat to spark plug holes.
These heads were prone to cracking, friend of mine used to run one back in the days of the Mighty Mini Sports Sedans and it wasn't unusual for him to have it repaired 2-3 times a year.

Thanks
Ian :)
