Threw on some L plates and gave my son his first drive in it on the way home until it pissed down rain

Painted various moke things, restored a steering wheel, did more wiring.

Then mocked up the moke, and it's looking fiiiiiiiiiine

Adjusted tappets
Fitted rocker cover and new gaskets
Fitted Fan, radiator and brackets.
Thermostat housing was a tight fit.
Fitted new temp sender in housing as no provision in head.
Fitted fanbelt, generator, coil bracket.
Fitted starter motor.
Refitted distributor with new O ring.
Fitted rebuilt carb to manifold.
Fitted the rubber universals.
Filled with oil, but rocker cover gasket gave way, tightened.
Topped up coolant and left drain tap part open, not too much lost.
Need to fabricate pipe from side cover down back of engine.
Ready to fit into car next weekend.
Will have to remember to fit speedo cable before fitting engine back in.

STARTED IT, first time in about 2 years too. Alot of crap blew out the back when it finally did turn over but pretty much straight afterwards it was smoke free. It was awesome hearing the rumble of it idling again. A quick squirt and the supercharger whine appeared too. Now to put the dash back in and give it a few cosmetic touch ups and ill be back in business.

Collected little green car from Tony in Malta. Nice wiring, and everything works. Still waiting on drive train....GR! Today will take fuel sender unit and fuel gauge to be reconditioned and play with Recaro bases.

Took the front left hi lo out of the car today to replace the rubber spring. The spring is stuck fast to the hi lo. No amount of prising, pulling, bashing or swearing would separate it. In the end I think the hilo got more damaged than the spring so I'm off to get some more of those Blinggggg Hilos from Matt Read. 8)

At least the front will now match the rear. They look sweet.

Did a trial fit of the new alloy radiator onto the project engine. Measured the distance from the thermostat housing to the outside of the radiator and then checked the Cooper S measurement so I can confirm the engine will fit in the car with the Supercharger pulley and the wider alloy radiator.
Looks OK but pretty close fit, about 3mm clearance. :)
