hey guys. Im pretty new to the mini scene and i have just purchased a 1275 with drums

So it goes without saying i need some front disks.

I have tried to do a search for what options i have and its very confusing. Basically I am hoping to find something that will bolt on without any hassles, and at minimal cost (hopefully there are some for sale on here?!)

I was browsing through ebay UK and found some, not sure how much postage would be or if they would even suit my car?

It depends..... what size of rims you are running, or intend to use.

If you run 7.5" Discs you can go to 10" wheels in the future. If you don't plan on going to 10" wheels then go to 8.4" discs.

You will need a few more parts than what is shown in that ebay link. Check out the following two links:

General rule of thumb is fit the biggest discs that will fit inside your rims;-

10"wheels = 7.5" (Cooper S) Discs
12" (or 13") wheels = 8.4" Discs

Don't forget you will need to change the rear wheel cylinders to those with a 5/8" bore to maintain brake balance between front & rear (unless you like swapping ends).

I will have a set of Cooper S discs up for sale in the not too distant future. I'm going up to an 8.4" set up. I don't know when I'll get round to swapping them (hopefully within a couple of months) or how much I'll want, or how much postage will be. But these are details that can be worked out later.

Yes should be straight swap but it depends on the dish of the wheels you currently have.

No, driveshafts should fit straight into disc brake CVs.

My advice having been through this whole drama, buy brand new brakes. Give second hand kits a miss, they are a minefield. For a few extra $100 you get brand new everything.

The ebay ad is refering to using existing disc hubs. Which you do not have.
Drive shafts are the same but the cv joints are different.
My advice buy new around $1000 save alot of hassels.

Good advice, In the end, after a new set of CVs, New discs, new pistons, new hoses, pads, etc etc I had spent nearly $1300 including the second hand set of brakes, and I still had second hand brakes

Agreed.

Buy the lot new. I've done the rebuild thing with Cooper S discs... doesn't save you any money... and I found that one of my calipers was cracked at the bleed nipple anyways.

Or get a second hand set of 8.4's off a Japanese Rover... still will need at least ball joints, cv's and bearings, and I recomend a caliper seal kit too.

Will a brake booster be required or can you use the standard clubman master cylinder without a booster? (Dont for get to change the rear wheel cylinders!)

don't strictly need a booster, lots of us leave them off, others won't drive a car without it. I haven't had one fitted for at least 4 years, but whenever I let someone else drive the car I explain to them before they start that the brakes do work really well, but you've gotta "commit" and actually push the pedal instead of just wave your foot over it like a modern car. That said, my 13yo daughter can pull the car up OK in a motorkhana
