did the oil change & found this for the 2nd time every 2,500kms, wonder what it could be.

had no low oil pressure, no knocks nothing compression is perfect all cylinders, drives fine.

the only thing i have different is a central oil pick up & a quaife diff & new gears/gearbox has been re assembled.

diff shim? maybe?

soon find out, sort this out & i will pop the blower on as i have a spare week next week..

bugger :(

Does look like shim material, but I doubt it's from the diff, it's not wide enough and just off hand I can't place what it would be from.

if you remember i was getting shim like metal in my sump & the box had just been rebuilt.

so i took on everyones advice & pulled it out after i was still getting the same type of metal through my box.

i did not want to chance it anymore.

the problem was on the side plate of the diff cover the shim had collapsed & was pulling bits through the bearing, anyways no damage all fixed & happy days!

so all good problem fixed time to upgrade cam.!

so my little lemon 45atw engine is getting a cam upgrade to a RE83T then the sc12!

should be interesting now.

Just a little hint to avoid this- support the gearbox on it's RH side when fitting these diff bearing preload shims.
Then the little buggers can't slide down and get mangled.
