there are lots of opinions on it...

for out and out power but maybe not ideal drivability, use a weber

for about the same power and very nice drivability, 1 3/4" SU

forget about twin SU's

If you're after power and only power, go the webber. If this is a regular drive, I'd go a single Hs6 or HI44.

I've heard some people rave about dellorto carbies on minis (including the doc, I think).

Single 1 3/4 carb on decent inlet is a very good fuel effective carb with plenty of power without the hassle of re tuning oftern. A good ram pipe or srub stack in the filter works well.

Single 45 DCOE webber / dellorto is a great carb also, once it's set up correctly, which can be a pain in the arse. These work very well and are probably the ultimate with a long manifold which will mean cutting your bulkhead.

Twin H4 SU's are also great for power when used with a decent ram pipe and give a very nice classic look if thats what your after.

Twin 1 1/4 would probably be the bottom of the list for power output.
