Is there any major issues dropping an old motor in a Rover body??

I know the top engine steady needs to be added.

shouldn't be any major hassles - would probably need to retain the rover subframe though

It may well have to comply to the ADR's to which the body was made or certified to. In the case of the engine, this mostly means emissions. That's why Rover went to EFI (in it's various forms) in the first place.

I had a 70s 1100 van engine in my 88 rover. Just had to have the charcoal canister and breather lines back into the air filter (same as what the car would've orginally).

No worries then  But who really looks that closely at it all?
