It's the only car under $100k that's not a ricer and gets loads of [good] attention from people of all ages. no-one i knew had one, excpet my dad when he was my age but for some reason i just had to have one so thats just what i went and did. So far its tought me to tighten my pockets, how to strip, prep and paint a little car, not to expect to pass a roadworthy the first or second time and that you can go round corners really really fast much to the distress of my girlfriend haha!! Definatly changed my life for the better, hell i was a datsun stanza owner before the mini haha!!

I bought my first Mini way back in the dark ages when I was 19yo (1968)... A white 998cc but made it go faster with some nice racing stripes and wide wheels (which I did myself after bending the front rim on a pothole).

Had 3 Minis all up until I had to get a real car after I got married and kids started to arrive..

Now I am trying to relive my teenage years with my Moke that I bought just over 12 months ago and after spending more money that I wanted too, it is now as I want it to be.. Long live the Mini & Moke... :D

I got hooked at the tender age of 15 while I was working at Maccas. They guy I used to close up with had a 998 Clubbie and used to drive me home. When I got my licence, my parents wouldn't let me borrow thier car, but This guy would. I used it to take out my first Girlfriend and had my first kiss in it!!

The funny part is I have always been a Holden man. Still am, but with one exception. The other funny thing is i HATE small cars!! I had never owned anything smaller than a Commodore. But theres just something about them now isn't there

I'm only a relative newbie to the scene, having only had the 'K' for just over a year, and about the same time in the club. Now the car and club take up a fair portion of my spare time (much to the disgust of my missus!!). The club is a great bunch of people and I'm glad I have met them because it just makes the whole mini-owning experience that much easier (same can be said for the Ausmini crowd!!)

Long Live the Mini!!

I love driving such a cool little car, I love the waves from other mini drivers and the looks you get from the general public. Most of all I love the fact that you can drive almost flat out most of the time without actually breaking the speed limit.

My father had a couple of minis and Austin A30's when I was a kid and
I used to help him fix them so it seem logical for me to take up the mantel

Allthough my first car was an Austin A30, I am now on my third Mini and although I have had this one on the road for almost 18 months I can still find things to do to it. I am sure that as soon as it is 'finished' I will need to buy another one to play with.

Well, one put me in hospital for 5 months, and off work for 10, after my mate wrapped it round a tree. It was in sight of his front gate, too..
My first 850 was lots of fun in the 60's- I was Lancaster Motors' best spare parts customer I bet. I had too much power for the poor gearbox(es).. :?
But I was hooked. No other car could corner at such insane speeds back then, skinny crossply tyres and all.
Had another 13 of 'em since- it's a sickness, I tell you...

My first car was a Blue Mini Deluxe bought around 1967 (but drove the wheels off Dads FJ Special every chance I got before that) and I was wrapped in Motorsport as well so it was all so natural.

The Deluxe was YMS2S2/16673 and 9YATAH/17446 originally purchased 21/10/66 from Stewarts Motor Service Blakehurst.

In the mid 1970s a later Mini had big impact on my life and it was a big impact!! I out did the Dr for once!!! with a slightly longer hospital stay.

A lot of my friends and relatives owned Minis and I worked for fella detailing Minis and he also rallied a hot webered 1310 (went like the clappers).

I am pleased to have undertaken Project 850 and become the Secretary of the local Mini club in later life....Mini people (generaly speaking) are good people! :D
