OK, dumb maybe, but if I had the chance, would a 970 S be worth looking at to buy?

Am thinking it could be a suitable garage mate for the Mk.2.

The 970S was built for only 1 reason- to win the British 1000cc saloon car championship way back when.
They might be rare but they are slow, and make a lousy road car. You can get more HP out of a 998... with enough mods. :P

It is the rarity that makes them worth having. Not the driving pleasure.

Might as well buy art then... just as useful.

Love your work Doc. Always take note when you opine.

Have got the bastardized Mk.2 for driving. Get the 970 for the Missus. It's a plan to create equilibrium. I get a nice 970 and can keep spending money on Moneypit, a.k.a. The Mk.2. 8)

My Cooper S must be art then. I haven't driven it since 1988.

Girls, all I asked was whether it was looking at to buy. Be nice. No one is asking you to buy it. If I am that way inclined, so be it. It was an innocent enquiry. We don't need the UN or Mods on this.
