Yeah that's a rare one, not many come from the factory with the ID plate upside down.
And yes they are special.....their minis :!:

The green one seems to make a good axle stand.

Is the question whats the difference between a Clumban and a Clubman 'S' ?

If I recall its trim and stuff... not major differences but definately the 'S' was a different model. Mine is an 'S' but in the end its a normal clubby unless its concourse.

Kev or one of the 'elders' will know the specific differences between the 'S' and the 'normal' clubman

Pete

Clubman 71 - 72
Leyland Mini S 73 - 78

Watto says that there was a "Clubman S" in early 73 but I disagree with him.
Either way, the Leyland Mini S replaced the Clubman.

Mini S had flares and 4.5J wheels with stepped drums, the lesser ones had no flares and 3.5B wheels with flat drums.

My first mini was a late 72 'clubman' which was at least badged with the S
Could well have just been the owner/dealer sticking things on (seems to happen with all my mini purchases

What type of steering wheel is on that white one? and would it clean up respectably?

The S was higher spec and as a result slightly heavier. My preferred choice for a boat anchor..........................aw just stirring clubby fans.
