Do "we" think this would fit a clubman type heater?

http://www.t7design.co.uk/index.php?mai ... 435b4ff2be

I might be silly enough to order 1 and see if it does fit.

I can't understand why they are so much of a drama, The other option would be to fit a longer cable and use a Cooper S one.

Or I could take the one off my Cooper S and plumb the Cooper S heater in permanent as I never turn the heater off due to the additional cooling

Early FALCON ones are a perfect fit, look just the same as a clubbie one and cost bugger all on ebay. Im running one in my clubbie now and it works a treat and looks original too

Sorry mate, those are for 5/8" hose, our cars (up to Rover's) used 1/2" hose.

The Mini has 1/2 inch hoses, not 5/8.
I also leave the tap out.
Open the flap and turn the fan on when you want heat.

Holden VN ones also fit well.

I have no tap and the heater goes all the time.

Ruins my navy white shoes but thats why I get uniform maintenance allowance...

Not usually one to complain about parts for the mini as they are hard to find but the "original heater tap" is very badly made- When I installed one and the cooling system got up to pressure- coolant started to bubble out of the metal housing body like sqeezing an orange peel. I am about to install a plastic one- I'll let you know

Looks like a metal version of the Rover ones

I've fitted those straight 5/8" metal heater taps to HEAPS of mini's.

They fit easy. Just use new 1/2" heater hose, fit the hose to the tap BEFORE putting in the car. The hose will go on well if you use WD40 or similar.

I fit them in a vertical position, this stops crud jamming them up, which is the most common cause if failure of the original tap.

They make the control work nice and smooth!

You may need to adjust the lenth of the cable, depending on where the new tap is located. If the cable is too short, I have modified an old flap one to suit.

I buy mine out of Burson. they are generally a stocked item and are cheap! :D :D

I have mine plumbed directly to the core so its always circulating via the heater. Never had a problem. you want heat flick the switch. During summer it does not get hot as the air does not flow down their unless you flick that same switch

Yeah, mine is the same, except I also have a manual valve in the engine bay. I was thinking of putting in a new valve like that in the clubby heater tap fix in the how-to section. One of those things I'll get around to doing some day.
