 Post subject: speedo light globes

this might be a stupid question but where do you get the little screw in globes that go behind the speedo ? i have the 3 guage roundnose style cluster. Have tried super cheap and malz here in perth, neither have them

And another thing... is there any way of getting brighter ones (for speedo, oil, temp and tacho?)

I got some not long ago. NARVA brand, pretty sure i got them got them from Repco.

Instead of trying supercheap why not try an auto electrician or a real parts store.

an auto elec might have brighter ones, but I reckon if you found some brighter ones, it wouldn't be long before you asked how to dim them at night.... or asked why the little bit of cellophane in the face melted when you were driving with your high beam on

If they are not bright enough it could mean that there is a problem.
You might need to clean all the connections on the dash lights and make sure the dash light switch isn't causing a drain with a dirty connection.
Make sure that there is good earths on all the gauge lights.

I fitted LEDs in to mine. Much brighter, no heat but fiddley to do as you need to fit a resistor with them. They were 'superbright' (40 000mcd) and 10 mm in diameter. So I put a gommet in the hole where the light pushed in and then pressed the LED in to that. These LEDs are not cheap.
