My 78 clubby was completely black under the bonnet. Boring, but always looked clean.

hehehe....so you don't like braided hoses then willy? They would go well with a JUN BL hey??

I will have to see on that one....

Yes Kev, the motor should be BLACK...and if it is, it will hide the oil leaks well :D not that the engine builder would have oil leaks in his motor

Chong....I am liking having a motor / engine bay that matches my interior....that's a good theme continuing through the car....so black might be plain, but it's not out of place in JAM

My vote is for all black...with an alloy cover, bit of chrome here and there, GT40 coil..maybe some red leads.. ;)

I'm running mine without the heater hoses hooked up...heater core is still under the dash though. I never use it..should take it out..but looks like a pain.

Not all housings have a hole there, but they all have the moulding for it. Maybe his doesn't actually have the hole there either.

My Engine is RED same colour as the car, two pac paint is very heat resistant and does not loose colour either cause it is baked on.
but I guess the whole car is very original looking but with good improvments so black and chrome would be nice.

This engine doesn't have a crankcase breather. The mouting boss is there but the hole doesn't exist.

JAM: I totally agree. It would look smick! Hey what do you think about a black alloy rocker cover with the stove top silver bits showing on top? Something like this:

It's just different from the same old rocker cover that every man and his dog has these days that's all. Whatda think?

Ahh my young Jedi Master, it is time for the apprentice (me) to teach you a thing or two!

See that small round flat spot on the top left of the cap? it's there so you can drill and tap a hole for a breather! Ingenius huh? and it's piss easy to do. My sports one that i have now (same as Kev's one cept he has Special written on his) has the same mod.

mine is black with a silver with black striped rocker cover, the gearbox casing is silver, black sets off the car good, if u have 2 much of the same colour i dont think it looks great, so i would say black, and as u sed, it looks good even when u drip oil on it and it gets greasy, no one knows!

hmmmmm, ponder ponder......

my vote would have to be black, with chrome bits and anything
else that is not chrome (eg leads etc keep as red) that way its in staying
with the theme of the car, red/black interior, red exterior, plus the chrome/silver
wheels.....my two cents work.....

I agree with czerial... black motor, completely chrome rocker cover (I think it would be too much black with chong's suggestion), other little crome bits as you already have and red leads... so that's 4 cents worth (czerial's 2cents plus my 2)
