Hi all,

Today at rego check, I went to pump the washers to spray water and ....nothing.

I had a quick look and the lines were bone dry (its been a year since I last used them). I pumped and pumped but nothing came through?

Do I need to bleed the lines? When I take the tubes off the back of the pump it feels as though its sucking, but it was kind of hard to tell at the time.

Cheers
Ryan

the hose just drops straight into the bottle. No valve.

Yeah I think it needs that little one way valve. Probably fell off last time you filled it.

I think one from an aquarium shop might work.

You need to get all the air out of the pump for best results. It is a probably a good idea to remove the pump so you can turn it to get the air out while pumping.

The washers on my 1100 stopped working a while back and I found that the hose on the firewall had been hit by the air-filter splitting the hose.

Where do the hoses go through the fire wall to the pump ?
Is there a certain hole there some were ?
is it below the parcel self ?

G'day Mark, from memory when i done a wiring job on my ignition under the dash , i remember the tube coming in through the dash with the main wiring harness , and down to the pump. Definately not saying that this is the correct route for it.

These are the two listed on the minisport website.

Mini windscreen washer one way valve (early cars)
http://www.minisport.com.au/prod716.htm
and
Mini windscreen washer valve (sits in washer pump bottle)
http://www.minisport.com.au/prod1870.htm

I imagine the bottom one is the one I need. Whats the top one for?

Does $15 seem a little steep?

I look at it this way, if someone came to you and showed you the valve and said "if I give you $15 will you make me one of these?".....kinda makes it look like good value then! :)
