I guesstimated the factory spots were 8mm, so bought this spot-weld bit recently:

It was a quality brand and cheap! I hope it works okay.

It works like a small hole saw. It fits in your normal drill.
The pin in the middle is spring loaded.

You centre punch the middle of the spot weld.
Locate the point of the pin in the middle of the centre punch mark.
