Was the car re-registered to get that number or is it a personalised number plate? If not it appears to be out of sequence. In NSW the 1970 number plates were in the early B range (e.g. BCL nnn) and 1971 in the late B range (e.g. BXQ nnn).

I'm pretty sure back then, JAZ would more likely have been a VIC issued plate in 70/71 era, but I seem to recall a brother having a 76 or 77 car with JCY numberplates in NSW so maybe?

I think it must have been re-registered in about 76/77.

JAZ??? doesn't fit that period with VIC either, our 1970 Mini K is KTA??? my mum had a 1964/65 Morris 1100 and it was JEW???. Both cars were bought new.
