Is that a pudding stirrer or rod change?

Neither, it is a remote change.

Goes to show how much I know about Minis

So is the rod change sometimes refered to as the "magic wand"?

`Magic wand' is the original 850 long shifter which went direct into the original (short) diff housing of 3 synchro boxes. This setup stopped in 1968.
`Pudding stirrer' is a similar looking shifter, but it mounts under the 4 synchro remote box's diff housing. I'll find the pics...

The " pudding stirrer" would probably of been in the old mini that your mother in law gave you all those years ago , it came out through the floor up near the firewall . 8)

According to the above info, that would have been the "magic wand". Pudding stirrer came out early 70's? Poverty pack Clubby's and Moke's had them.

It came out in 69 on the poverty "K" and Van with the introduction of the 4 syncro box.

Magic wand (out of Spiro da `68 Moke)-
Oz 850 one was similar shape (but had a bend up near the top) but without the wiggly bit at the bottom.
