G'day Evan , that sucks mate, I have a bootlid here that you can have if you get stuck,
it was given to me , so you can have it. Now i'm not sure whether it is off a roundie or a clubby , someone on here will tell us if there is a difference, the reason i think it is off a clubbie is some other gear that i got off this guy was out of a clubby. i can email you some photos if you like.
I also have a pair of hinges too if you can't find any.
Is your Morris Cooper badge bent as well , looks like it should be from the photo, i have one of these somewhere , but i think you can still get these new.

The only difference in the Aussie boot lids is the holes for the badges. Easily fixed and much nicer looking than those UK boots.

And when it is all repaired the question will be . . . and what colour is this again?

I would check the rear of the boot floor because if the hinges bend that much there could be ripples along the rear seam. You might find when you fit up the 'new' bootlid the rear will not line up.

Are you now planning to repaint the whole car? 8)

Sorry to see that Evan, hope Barney has a speedy recovery! Hopefully its all fixable without too much drama. Check your rear subframe , or get the repairer to have a look .

Hope my wheel nuts are ok?

Have your wheels turned up yet?

Hey Evan,
This really sucks. Where did this happen?
With regard to the number plate, you may not have to pay the initial $400 fee, but you will be up for an annual fee.

There was no annual fee for those MIN 167 plates when fitted, they are regular number sequence, not personalised plates.
I would just retouch them up yourself...

Plates are damaged after having a closer look. Spoke to MyPlates yesterday and there will be no fee on the remake. As the New England plates are not available, I will go for white on black. I've not seen any cars running black euro plates and to me they look a little out of place.

Have sourced a boot and hopefully a right hand brake lens from Scotty Young up here, so he will benefit from a shed clear out + insurance adjustment!

It happened over at Broadmeadow, turning right onto Turton Road from Lambton road. Young lass hit the go pedal when she saw the green light to go straight on.

Dropped the car at Jackson Bros this morning and here's the upshot.

- Bumper will be sent away to be repaired and chromed. Overriders and nerfs are OK.

- Plates will be remade. I pay, then have insurance reimburse.

- Whole rear end will be resprayed in 2pak, so here's my chance to pick a colour. With the new house eating all available funds, I wont be respraying the whole car just yet. Will have the S badged placed properly!

- Will need a new number plate flap as its bent as buggery. MiniKing looks the goods.

- Morris Cooper badge is bent, but may be salvageable. Depends on the mood of the assessor?

Leigh, your nuts are safe! Wheels have not left the UK yet. Grrr!

If it were me, i'd only go for those wider plates if you had the correctly shaped spot for them (like on a Rover bootlid) As you'll be replacing with an Aussie lid, i'd stay with the more traditional narrow plate

Glad to hear that you are getting it sorted without too much pain.

As for the plates, personnally i would only put the standard , traditional size plates on a car of that vintage, they just look right .
