Tyre prices in this country now are just stupid- when you can get A032Rs in UK for £45... plus freight.
That's what I'm getting next, screw the local import chain. :x

Simon I'm still looking at getting those wheels (and some tyres) - happy to chat freight

We should organise a group order and get a container!

If any one is ordering anything they should post up on this thread. I'd be in for a set of tyres and possibly wheels to suit.

A direct shipment from Japan is a great thought and I have tried it myself through a mate who imports 3-4 containers of cars/parts every year.

The only trouble is tyres must be fitted to rims or in original water-tight packaging with certificates that they have gone direct from manufacturer to shipment without getting wet. Without this they are treated as containing contaminated water and the whole container load must be fumigated or treated.

My mate hasn't tried talking to Yokohama, Dunlop etc about getting lots of tyres to put into a container. it has so far just gone into the too-hard basket. He just buys tyres and fits them to rims (crappy or good) then re-fits them to the rims he wants here. The end result is he saves about 25-35% on the cost of Toyo R888s for his track day cars.

Just last week I told him I'd buy 10 sets of A032s in 10" if he could source them in plastic in Japan.

Anyone with contacts want to team up with my shipment contact?
Josh from Miniimports want to import them for us?

M

I'm awaiting a reply from minispares in regards to the price of shipping some A008's over.

Marshall, Kumho and Falken do a 145/80/10

Stuckeys had the Marshalls at the mini show in Melbourne on Sunday, but everywhere should be able to get them

Bob Jane will do the Marshall/Khumo tyres for $83 a tyre
Tempe will do Falkens for $75 (out of stock at the minute, but two weeks they said)

Cheers
Aaron

I had a quote (at least 6 mths ago) of $140 fitted for 10" A008s at Bridgestone Milton (Vitanza's).
They also have a jig for 10" wheel alignment.

I'm checking them out again this week.
Also might go the A008s or A032s from the UK. Just can't ignore the price.

Cheers.
