Thought I'd finish off the wiring (loom is in just not all plugged together)

Started with the bunch of connectors near the wiper motor feeding the rear loom. - ended up with a green with brown trace on the front side ( ie switched power) and a purple on the rear side (interior light) Means the ignition has to be on to turn the interior light on does it not?

Next hooked up the lead that goes through the parcel shelf to the turn/horn lead out of the steering column - all matched up except I have a green with brown trace and a black left over :? Heater?

Also the horn wires are brown and brown with black trace (even the original wires I left in the stearing column yet the diagrams say they should be purple :? They don't make it easy.

Hey mr GT MOWOG. There is nothing wrong with colour blind people. For your info I AM ONE of those people too. But I have done Auto Electrics for the last 40 years or more. It is a problem sometimes but asking someone to help you ID a colour is easy. I am used to it. I know no different. I often rely on a Multimeter to see where wires go to when I can not identify the colours. Mind you I am colour blind with Green Red and Browns. Most common colour blindness.

Hey Tony, not saying there is anything wrong with anyone. Just asked a question and yes, I am quite aware the those who are colour blind can still (usually) distinguish different colours!

It was a tongue-in-cheek quetsion as you would have to agree that for a (new?) suplied wiring harness to have wire that change colour at connections and even 'half way through' is perculiar to say the least.

Worked it out (I think) - not colour blind - short sighted  Green with brown trace is numeber 38 on the wiring diagram - Purple is number 28 - Just have to check now if that particular green with brown goes back to the fuse

As for the brown leads from horn push to horn - the very first English diagram has them as brown - all others since are purple :?
