Does the 1350mm track measurement apply to a 70's Clubman or just Rover minis?
Reason I ask is my GT was defected years ago for being overtrack, the specs that the copper had were;

Front..1277mm
Rear....1236mm

So according to what I've read here so far I was well inside the limit.

When I got my super trax they said the offset was the same as a 13x6 wheel.666 has the same ones so he should be ok. If he is out so am I. Maybe this is the excuse I need for 10x6 black mambas.

I can have a go. Mine is a chubby clubby so I'm probably stuffed anyways.

Just to throw some more numbers into the mix:
1968 mini cooper s front track: 1233mm
1998 mini (all) front track: 1240mm

My mini (even with 13" wheels) front track: 1245mm

My understanding of the track modification law is that it's over standard format.
Mine is therefore okay at only 12mm above its original factory wheels.

You people with numbers of 1350 and 1370 seem WAYYYY over track to me. :?

Hi guys
I was imformed by my engineer that i was to get the measurement from the widest production mini ie: being the rover with the 13x6's at 1325mm

As long as a mini (any year) has that track width i'm led to believe its legal
Looking at the supertrax they have a smaller dish to the superlites so you might be ok

Whats your source on that?
Sportspack minis had max a front track of 1268mm by my findings.
(an alternate variant on this number is as small as 1258mm, I think that to be the more accurate size)
:?

hey 666
I went out and put a piece of 4X2 against the wheel vertically and drew a line inside this. MEasured between the two and then measured the wheel width
1460ish was the width and one wheel width was 200mm. That means that the track width is 1260 if I did it correctly

That is on the matte black supertrax with a048rs

That confirms what I put above with sportspacks being 1260 track.

So I now think its safe to say that (for vic) the widest legal track you can have on a mini is 1260 (sportspack mini) + 25mm (allowable increase according to VSI8) for total of:

1285mm

:D

Nick, thats what your front track has to be to be 'legal'.

So long as they have the identical bearings, suspension components, and so on.
I don't think they changed but it was mentioned earlier that the Sports pack Rovers had extra gussets/bracing in their sub frames.
Personally I think it would be best to look at the widest Australian ADR approved mini or moke (if the moke has identical subby and suspension as a mini).
