Hi all,
Name is Nick, I'm from Sydney(North Shore area), I've been nuts on mini's since I was a kid and finally have a the(nervous) green light from the boss to start looking for a mini for myself.

I'm pretty much set on getting a van as something of a rolling resto. So if anyone has something complete and close to roadworthy(or even actually roadworthy) and ludicrously cheap, keep a lookout for an optimistic wanted ad in the next month or so. In the meantime I'll just have to console myself with all the works in progress here.

Cheers,

Nick

Lady Boss! Strangely, forcing her to watch Love the Beast with me was the best thing I ever did, an hour and a half of that made her come around after the previous 6 years of failure :)

'Love the Beast' is the perfect yardstick for a person's automotive personality. If they watch that and don't "get it", then they never will.

Hi all,
im Rhys im 16 years old. I live in hobart tasmania.
Minis have been in my family for many years, two that i remember were a green deluxe with a 1275 (brought it for the mags) and a blue 67 deluxe with a worked 1100.
my dad sold them both so he could buy something that "spun the wheels easier" :-) (ended up with an immaculate 77 Lx torana hatchback)
i then decided in 2009 i wanted a mini as my first car and brought a 1977 Leyland mini. She was a mess but the motor ran and it had no rust so i picked it up for $1000 and rebuilt the motor, had it resprayed and brought a few goodies for her.
I then decided it was to good to drive every day so i brought a little 4wd, and put the mini on special interest rego.
Im now selling my Leyland as ive always wanted to race and would like to buy a roundie and build it into a cooper s replica race car.
Cheers,
Rhys Silver

Hi, im Richard from Maitland NSW. My first ever car was a 1976 Leyland Mini S, my 2nd car was a modified 71 mini K.

Then I got sensible (never lost my love of Mini's), married with 2 kids. 15 years later I finally got my dream Mini.

Its a re-shelled quite neat Mk1 Cooper S. (Some say Replica but I like re-shelled) 1360cc Engine, Mk2 close ratio box, 45mm Delorto plus more inside... Lowered with coil springs and Spax Shocks.

Enjoy the odd hillclimb too. Helooooo All !!

Hi all,

New to the forum but not new to mini's! Had the bug since I was 16, but haven't a mini for 10 yrs now. Learnt to drive in a mini, 1st - 4th cars mini's and now VL Turbo, hence the user name.

1st mini was a 73 clubby van 998 stock, till I got to it. 1293 followed by a 1380 with a 731 rally cam...scared a few people in the passenger seat with that one, the go-cart with a tin roof thing! ha ha ha javascript:emoticon('8)')javascript:emoticon('8)')

2nd was a 68? morris deluxe with a metal flip front, 998, & 3rd was a 74 clubby 998. Pranged the front, cut it off and had a removeable fibreglass front. Best thing I ever did to work on the engine! And the last was really just a parts car!

Just bought a 77 mini sunshine earlier this week and is now underwraps in my backyard. Not original, the roofs been replaced, so no sun roof and it's got a 1275 with twin 1 1/2 SU's and extractors of unknown quality. Been resprayed green on top and silver down below, originally it was yellow, with a grey interior. It's been stored for the past 3 yrs, so it's a bit of an unknown. A little bit of rust to contend with around the roof channel due to the roof replacement, and a couple of patches elsewhere, but relatively clean.

Hopefully start work on the new project somewhere in spring after a finishing off a couple of other ones!

Cheers Shane

Hi guys,
New here but a bit of a lurker.. I had to wait 3 weeks for my account to be activated.

I currently own a 93 Rover mini SPi which i bought from a guy in Melbourne and drove it up.
I tend to drive her like i stole it and now its coming up with a few problems.
In the 4 months that i have owned her i have spent maybe 6 grand on parts/ mods and i did not have to in the first place.

I live in Blakehurst and often drive to Mascot/ Eastlakes for work so if you see me say hi!

The only thing i don't like about the car is the dirty big great key mark on the drivers side door. A punk decided to key it one night.
