 guess so. Anyone know the story of the poor lil fella?

I guessing the story started with "Hey guys, look how well my mini handles" and ends with "Oh #$%^!"

Wow that's top dollar!
What are bits worth these days?
-- I have been out of the loop for about a decade now!

Back when I was still working on Minis things like 1275 complete engines were no more than around $700 - ready to bolt in and run!
Cooper S brakes were $4-500.
S tanks went for $150-200.
Looks like things have really sky rocketed

Twin SU's - $400
1275 ready to go - $1k to 4k
S brakes 2nd hand - $500 to 1k
Mags & good tyres - $400
Interior $400 upwards
Steering wheel - $100
Dash - $200 upwards
And theirs still a lot more things their.
Most if not all minis you see around are worth more in parts than a complete, registered, show winning car.

I'll buy the motor and box. Just leave it here is Brisbane and take the rest. I recently learned how expensive they are getting

It also has a booster so I put it as wheels, steering wheel, rh tank, motor&box, boot lid, interior, dash and odd little bits of chrome.

I would have had a go at the auction and think it was a fair sale price.

Try getting a 1275 manual with those bits on an unregisterable car from Japan. It'll cost more.

M

So apparently this Mini had a broken ball joint. Hmmm I wonder if it was the cause of the accident. I, in the past have warned of the cheap (Chinese) ball joints.
We remember Nathan the guy who owns the VTec 850 had a horrific crash due to crap ball joints. Nathan was put in hospital for a long time in a critcial condition.
Guys, this is something that needs further investigation. I hope those blokes at MiniSport could shed some light on the snapped ball joint.

Good on you Andrew!

Inspires confidence that at least in mini land business sentiment is good.

Cheers

I'd agree, however plus freight to Adelaide with a car like that?

Like I mean, that thing was not rollable, nor was it driveable onto a tralier ,, it would need covering up, and one on one transport.

Freight cost I would have thought to be AT LEAST 1.5K in that state. Different story if its rolls on and off a trailer easy and is sealed up and clean...

Someone tell me this...

Still a good buy though

Whilst the top ball joint is broken, I do not think you could say this 'caused' the accident- as many other items are broken too

And here is the engine running :)

I think the crash caused the ball joint to fail and not the other way around.
