for over $20000 to be spent you would have thought they would have done something with the engine bay.

You would also thiink they woulda painted a fully rebuilt motor?

For that much money I really want it to be galvanized and not just made from zinc coated steel.

Having worked with a dirty big galvanizing plant I can imagine what a stock thin Moke body would look like after dipping in molten zinc @ 400C... and it would not be pretty.

Wow, you're very picky there, pal.

Do you happen to own a concourse Cooper S?
You should, with the amount of nit-picking you've just done.

20K doesn't go too far these days, and I wouldn't doubt that he has spent that on his Moke.

I like getting the opinion of the hypercritical. So far, i have seen a number of ' perfect Cooper s' that I would've bought if i hadnt bought my mini bitsa, but these guys have pointed out the inconsistencies and problems with them. After they have been through it , I want them slightly less.

Perhaps it has something to do with presenting a car accompanied by some pretty unsubstantiated claims.... It is like a pre purchase inspection via forum. 

Fair crack of the whip...... I know that $20k doesnt go very far when you pay others to do things for you, but the guy does kinda go out on a limb saying this is the best moke in the world (thats my read of him saying its a "million dollar baby" yadda yadda) and even though we all know the $1m price tag is a joke, it would be interesting to see what he was after for it. Throwing in the "spent more than $20k" is probably his way of fishing a price circa that, and I must say that i have seen much better mokes for much less.

I dont think anyone would be wrong to expect that the engine bay would be a little tidier if the guy is hinting he wants the big bucks he wants...

I wonder if he is including repair bills and registration.... I am pretty sure i have spent nearly $20k on my cars too over the last 8 years, but thats registration, insurance, bits and pieces, repairs, oil, petrol, parking meters.................
