I have a spare loom that I use for plugs and things so I can supply you with one.
Take a photo of the crook plug at your end first so I don't hack the wrong one off.

Thanks to all who have responded and thanks to Harley for supplying a better TPS plug, new TPS plug has been fitted (and soldered and sealed and insulated properly) didn't seem to make a difference, got my package in the mail from minispares uk, fitted a brand new crank angle sensor, had computer checked (no obvious fault codes other than to check wires to fuse box (which were checked, cleaned up connections, fitted new fuses) and still she runs like a dog. My package from mini spares also had a new fuel filter and lamba sensor (i figure the ones on the car are at least 2 years and 20,000kms old so probably could do with a change), am going to change these two items this weekend. Does anyone have any other suggestions I should look at? Thanks

This may be completely wrong, but I was under the impression that the MEMS ecu adjusted itself by 'learning' as it receives input.

Is it possible that it may take a bit of driving around for all the repairs to kick in with the MEMS so it processes everything properly and gets its settings back to normal ?

With everything you've done to it I'm surprised its still a problem.
How many kms has the car done do you think?

Other thing: try changing your clear aquarium pump tubing for proper vacuum hose (someting that wont get soft and loose pressure when it gets hot).
That'll cost maybe $5, probably pointless but it might be something.

Hi,

had you checked the thin manifold vacuum hoses if cracked or blocked ?

Cheers
Luis

Compression test might be worth a look?

Or a look at the valve trane / valves/ cam even?

May not be electrical if you have explored those avenues?

I think the only mechanicl thing that could effect it would be if the timing chain has stretched and its running out, but still think its unlikely.

I saw some pics on a uk website that AC Dodd took of some spi and mpi cams . There was only half a cam lobe left in some spots . That would do it I reckon.

Thread revival! After throwing my hands in the air it was off to a professional. I begged and pleaded and Lindsay Siebler and he had a look for me. As he drove it up his driveway he commented that the diff was worn. And he still couldn't work out my misfiring. So I gave him the go ahead to pull the engine out, clean everything up and replace the coolant sensor (as I couldn't find it!!) So while it was out he pulled my diff apart, and the diff pin was worn halfway through. Only a matter of time before it snapped. So got a new diff, the power plant was put back in and reconnected and still it wasn't much better. He then checked the fuel pressure and found that my fuel tank had rusted on the inside and blocked up the strainer, fuel pump and swirl pot? Swapped to a good second hand tank and it runs better than it has in the last 2 years! So stupid of me not to think of that. I was sure it was electrical. Anyways, just wanted to say a big thankyou to Jon (justfangingaround), Harley, Josh from miniimports and everyone else who contributed to this thread. Happy mini-ing!

Fuel tank huh? Never wouldv'e thought to check that, cause all the injection tanks I've seen have been in half decent nick.

For future reference, the coolant sensor is in the throttle body, directly above the oxygen sensor.

Good to know its all sorted.
:D
