It looks quite nice, it'd be nice to get a video of it on the dyno, on a drive or even just at idle... To hear it

Does anyone have any pics of the setup for the weber linkages for this head? My dad's trying to piece it together but he isn't sure if he has the right linkage kit that came with the head and carbs.

Other than that it should be running shortly.

So my dad's 7 port is up and running and racing around :)

Had a few little dramas and i really would not recommend simply bolting one of these on out of the packet. I strongly recommend checking that all the valve seats are seated properly in the head, and machined nicely. Also that the head is actually flat, as ours wasn't. Also check that the cast holes are good as one of ours required a quick drill to open it out to the proper size.

But boy is this thing a big improvement over the standard 5 port. Very nice indeed.

Still have some tunning and some fiddling to do but its a racer!

Hey Matt

Is your dad's 7 port in a roundie or clubman?

Steve

It's a clubman so the ram tubes on the webers fit with sock filters on without modifying anything. If you wanted to run a proper filter box setup you would probably need to modify the bonnet latch and brace etc.

The top mount linkage kit supplied with the carbies doesn't fit under the bonnet either, so we used a disc/wheel setup.

I might take some photos tomorrow and post them up.

I have a spare set of special valve caps that give more valve spring length when installed. These are made in the UK just for these heads.
If your serriously interested PM me.

That reminds me to especially mention the springs, as SuperCooper did. Check your valve lift against when the springs bind. We are just using standard rockers on a unknown mildish cam and i think it was about 30 or 40 thou more lift would see the springs bind.

Is there a part no. Or link for these valve caps? Could have been useful.
Cheers.

bringing this thread back because ive become interested in 7 port heads, do these things have anywhere near the potential of an elder head? im keen on one of these heads but at the same time and not wanting to sound like an idiot, i want a little more then 90bhp atw, considering ive heard of up to and over 150 bhp from similar more well known heads. but something like 120hp would be awesome.. can it be done?
