Does anyone know the body numbers for broadspeeds? If i make a dash that looks like a broadspeed dash and restamp my roundy shell then havent i restored a genuine broadspeed?

WTF??!!

Of course, then you would have to cut the back off your Mini, graft on a fibreglass fastback conversion the same as the original Broadspeeds - good luck getting one of those - move the windscreen and cut down the doors to fit, and then just basically lie.

This is the dash in the one known remaining Aussie-built Broadspeed road car:

This car was recently restored b Chris Woden in the UK - I photographed it at IMM in 2009, and Chris had just finished it and started work on restoring the only genuine UK-built Broadspeed GTS race car.

As you can see, the Aussie dash was very different from the UK dash. As there were probably only 4 cars made here, most of the dashes around the place are likely to be copies. Having said that, Brian Foley and Laurie Stewart had planned on making Broadspeeds as a regular low-volume production run, so it is possible they had a number of dashes made. It is also possible that the company that made the dashes for them, as they didn't do it themselves, may have sold them as an accessory line when the deal on the Foley Broadspeeds fell through.

Cheers,
Watto.
