Changed manifold gasket to thicker race type, adjusted the timing, new plugs, found that the extractors on the van have a piece of what appears to be rebar connecting them together. Makes a real sh%t getting them off and even worse trying to get them back on, WHY is this done, are the extractors homemade? why would you leave the bar on it and not cut it off(lazy)

Dropped the exhaust onto the road towards the end of a MOCWA run last night. Pretty sparks!

Finished removing the whole front loom from Henry last night. Painting the engine bay in Killrust Hi-temp then a coat of white hi-temp.

Ordered a new loom from Classic Looms in Melbourne - 2-3 weeks for the wait though :(

Over the last 2 weekends i have done the following work on the KSGTLSmoke850:

-replaced head gasket
-checked the 12G295 head to make sure it was good
-replaced rear wheel bearings
-broke my horn wire
-Fixed the PCV valve
-Moved the postion of some cords and hoses under the bonnet
-Put some 10X6 cosmics on it :D
-Found some rust bubbles forming on the seams

So its finnaly going again, may actually update the build thread some day...

In other news for my birthday i got a 76 clubby S shell. its a bare shell with no rust in undercoat. So i have plans for that. have alot of bits i will be using that i got off members off here i.e Minimaxx, super seven, david rosenthal and there are others. So thanks guys its greatly appreciated.
Minimaxx, that 71 i got off you was really to far gone to rebuild its still here but im not sure i will tackle it. It would be a huge project especialy with that pillar that has been cut out. Still plenty of good parts on it though :D

So expect lots of questions soon guys. Trying to build this one without much help from dad. So my questions may sound really dumb but hang in there. (not much will change though, my current questions are dumb anyway  )

Picked up 'the Brick' yesterday from Wagga Wagga, after a month down at "The Old School Garage" I had a list of work written out & just gave it to Tim! :D A great way to spend some of my tax return.  Now it will be able to get me to work & back, a little more worry free. A great job by them & great price as well :D :D :D

Put petrol in the tank and started her for the first time in too many months.

As soon as the fuel got drawn through she fired first time and then settled in to idle at 500rpm. Smooth..

:D

Now to see if I can get her together for the muster on September 11..

Left to do:

    Front and back screens in
    Heater back in
    Finish hooking up the stebel
    New plugs in the floor
    Carpet
    Adjust the door locks
    Door trim
    Left rear window back in
Maybe a carpet in the boot
    Parcel shelf
(edit) fix the windscreen wiper motor and refit the motor and wipers
(edit) fix the rear demister tabs (one is missing so I am fabricating a replacement)

Then she'll be right for a test drive... [/list]

Looked at how much rust my poor van has then refit the master cylinders and try to fire it up.
It took a while to start and one carb seems to be sticking, shoulda sold it before it got to this state.
